The Brown College scholarships include three half- tuition scholarships, each worth $16,785 for a total scholarship award of over $50,000. Standard fees, books, and laptop computer would be the responsibility of the recipient. The recipient must successfully enroll, remain academically eligible and make satisfactory progress toward graduation in order to maintain your scholarship. Brown College requires that the recipient apply for any grant-in-aid for which they would be eligible for the US Department of Education and/or their state of residence. The winner of the 2010 Brown College Conclave Scholarship should be prepared to start school from April through October 2010.
The Specs Howard scholarship includes tuition, application fees, books & supplies - and is for the Diploma Program in Radio-TV Broadcasting. It is worth $11,995. Room & board are not included in either scholarship. The McNally-Smith Music Business scholarship is an award of $4000 per semester for up to four semesters total. The scholarship is valued at up to $16,000. Renewal is automatic as long as the student maintains a requisite grade point average and enrolls full-time. Said Conclave Executive Director Tom Kay, “The Conclave could not be prouder to offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students desiring to enter the radio or music industry through these valuable scholarships to Brown, Specs Howard and McNally-Smith. We thank these institutions, long time friends of the Conclave, for partnering with us in offering an education to those who might not receive it without our help.” Since 1979, the non-profit Conclave - in keeping with its mission of educating the broadcast industry - has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to deserving students desiring an education inside the radio and music industries. In addition to the Radio and Music Industry scholarships, the Conclave will be awarding a scholarship to Kean University/Union, New Jersey and will also recognize a professional member or our industry with the 2010 Rockwell Scholarship.
