Karol Baumeister graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Communications in 1996.   She started her career in Milwaukee with the Onion Newspaper.  Shortly after college Karol’s career took her to Düsseldorf, Germany, as one of the first employees in a start up Telecommunications Company, where she was named top salesperson of the year.  Karol returned to the United States working with new media, public relations, and online advertising in Minnesota.  Then with the dotcom boom she was off to California to work for www.policeone.com and an international publishing company, International Global Solutions where she sold print and online advertising for American companies abroad.  In 2001, Karol joined the staff of Brown College in Career Services helping technology graduates find employment.

She soon expanded her role and now works in Career Services with Radio Broadcasting, Television Production, and Communications graduates, assisting them in their job search.  Karol is also a graduate of the Brown College radio program and has worked for Minnesota News Network as a producer and assisted with sports and political reporting. 

In addition to her duties at Brown College, Karol keeps busy as a voice over talent doing radio commercials, station imaging, and animated movies.  As one of the newest members of the Conclave Board, what inspires her is: “The generosity of the board and their dedication to the industry.”  Karol was elected to the Conclave Board in 2008 and is co-chair of the Scholarship Committee.  Her favorite part of the job, “There is nothing better than hearing a scholarship winner yell into the phone when they find out they are the winner.” Karol is also a Landmark Forum graduate and a proud member of Women’s Education Career Advancement Network.
